Today’s report is fairly short compare to any other days we spent in Japan – well, really, just back to normal length, I suppose! It’s from Sunday 4th of July. Yes, we are still going out and about everyday! No wonder kids are taking so long to recover . . . It’s been two weeks since we got back and they are still having extremely long naps everyday!! Back to the report. On this day, we could feel that we were a bit tired, so we took the morning off and stayed at home just taking it easy. These days, Zac was getting so used to going out everyday, he would be waiting for me at the front door when he finishes his breakfast and finish watching his favourite shows on TV! We had lunch at home, and left home just after to go to Shimajiro concert. We had to be in the draw to win the tickets (and still pay for it), but manage to win! This was the only show that was held before we went back to Australia, so I was happy to be able to take them to the concert :) The Nanbu line which we take to get to Kawasaki, where the concert is, is known not to have lifts at the stations, so I arranged mum to drop us off at the station where we knew there is a lift to the platform, and contacted Kawasaki station to find out whether they have lifts. It was good that we contacted the station, because we found out that there is no lifts!! It’s such a big station, I was so surprised that they didn’t have basic facility like lifts! Anyway, they asked us to contact the station master when we are leaving our station, so they will know which train I will be taking, and therefore they will know what time we get to Kawasaki station. Then, there was someone at Kawasaki station when we arrived, who would carry the pram up the stairs (all by himself, as I had to carry Fidel!!). We were told that it would take approx. 15 min. to the venue of the concert, so we started walking along. As we were walking, we found out that we had to cross few big streets. Most of them, we could cross with traffic lights & crossing on the road, but with the largest one, they put bridge across it , to avoid traffic congestion by traffic lights, so we had to take the lift up to the top of the bridge, cross, and then take another lift down on the other side. Only problem with that, is it’s quite small, so depending on the size of the pram, only 2 groups of people could fit in it. I suppose that is not normally a problem. But this day, lots of people with prams were walking to the same venue for the concert, so there was a long queue at both of the lifts!! We left home early enough, so there was supposed to be more than 30 min. to spare, but by the time we got there, the concert was just about to start!! I am so glad we didn’t miss the beginning of the concert!! I knew Zac would enjoy it! But surprised Fidel enjoyed it more!! He was clapping and dancing and having a great time!! I suppose he has been watching Zac’s study DVDs :) I got a bargain deal considering I didn't have to pay for him!
The concert over there is half price compare to Australia. I remember it was about $35 p.p. for Wiggles concert when we received them as Zac's 1st birthday present, and we had to pay for 1 year old and up. Well, Shimajiro concert was only $15 p.p., and didn't have to pay until they are 2, so $30 for 3 of us. I can't complain! I am glad they had a fantastic first concert experience!
