Yay-!  Finally made it to July report!  Still more than 3 weeks late, but I am getting there!  There isn’t much to report as soon as we get back to Australia, so at least you’ve got something to read for the time being :)

Today’s report is from Thursday, 1st July.  I was given a pair of Tokyo Disneyland tickets from mum’s Amway group person who lives in Kyushu (far away).  She’s got them as some incentive from Amway, but as it’s a bit far away, she decided to give them to mum to thank her for all the support she is giving.  And I got benefit out of it!!  Well, Mayumi and I discussed the date very carefully – as it was soooooooooo crowded last time, and the average line for the ride was about 2.5 hrs even though it was Friday, we decided not to go on Monday or Friday.  We picked Thursday 1st, and hoped it will be better.

And it worked!  It was heaps less people on that day!  Even the pram hiring place was empty – not that we needed to rent this time, but we happen to use the toilet that was right next to the hiring place, and they literally didn’t have anyone coming to rent!  Last time was non-stop, and we were wondering how many (hundreds of) prams they owned!!

At the gate, we always get greeted by some of the Disney characters.  Of course, most popular is Mickey Mouse.  Old days, you could just walk over and take a photo with any character we wished, but these days, even to take a photo with them, there is a line . . .  Lining up is not an option when we are with little children!!  So I just took a photo of the Mickey while people were switching over.

First place we went, was a go cart.  Last time we were here, it was closed for maintenance, but this time, it was open!  Mayumi let Zac drive, since there is railing in the middle of the course, he wouldn’t hit other cars, and it was safe enough.  He loved it!!

Next, we went to cartoon town.  We asked Zac whether he would like to get on the kiddie’s roller coaster, and he said yes, so Mayumi took him along.  It took a while before we could see them at the front of the queue which I didn’t think was that long initially, but found out later on, that Zac had second thoughts few times along the way, and they had to let other people go first!  He finally went along and got to the front, and unfortunately, the boy who was getting off after the ride was screaming his head off – so Zac got really nervous . . . and this is his reaction when he got off . . .

It was a really hot day, so we tried to cool down by going into the shops & indoor rides in between if we had to stand outside for a while.  We happen to end up at “Winnie the Pooh” shop – everything was “Winnie the Pooh” and his characters!!!

Last time we were there, we saw people sitting on the parade line from hours before – to save the spot, and we just couldn’t understand what the fuss was about.  We saw a glimpse of it this time, and I thought it could be exciting for Disney lovers.  The quality of the parade was definitely heaps higher than it used to be!

All of us went to ride on tea cup together.  And again, Zac picked “pink”!!  What’s wrong with this boy??!

We had lunch at one of the restaurant that was in the “It’s a small world” building.  It was made up with “Alice in Wonderland” things, so we walked through the card soldiers standing at the entrance.

It was so nice and cool in the restaurant.  We really enjoyed the temperature in the building and relaxed a bit before we went out to about 33 degree temperature heat again . . .

We rode on steam train and kids loved it!!

There was actually lots of “set ups” for this particular ride, surprisingly.  I thought it would be more like going around the park touring train, but it wasn’t like that at all!

We got on the little boat as well.  Lots of animals there – of course fake, but we were wondering whether they look real to kids eyes!

We went to the Toy Story thing again, and this time, I managed to take the video footage of the Buzz Lightyear.  Unfortunately, the face is shining and can’t see the face expressions very well in the beginning, but towards the end, you will see how he is talking.  Hopefully, you get the idea of what I was talking about last time!

On our way out, we got our photo taken by the Disneyland official photographer.  Everyone was giving him their own camera to take a photo for them – so I don’t think he was making much money out of taking professional photographs!
