For those of you who are not aware, Zac & I (Kay) are in Japan since 3rd February.  I will give you some update on how we got here and how we are doing.

My grandmother and uncle from father's side arrived in Australia on Australia Day.  It was their first visit to Australia, so Zac & I took them everywhere in the short period of time we had.  We went to Blue Mountains, Port Stephens, Hunter Valley, Reptile Park, Manly, DFO (Homebush), Darling Harbour, QVB and China town in a week!!!Yell

Then we flew from Sydney to Tokyo together.  Well, it was supposed to be Sydney to Tokyo direct.  But unfortunately, when Zac & I were in the very good deep sleep, we heard this announcement in the plane saying that they had some trouble with engine, and can't land in the icy condition, so we will have to divert to Cairns to get it fixed.  That woke Zac up . . . He only just fell asleep about half an hour before that (11:30pm Sydney time), so he screamed for few minutes. Cry (I would too!)  Every time he was about to settle, captain would make an announcement to tell us what's going on, and that would wake him up.  We had to burn the fuel before we could land, so we ended up flying above Cairns for 2 - 3 hours, and finally landed in Cairns about 3am.  They then decided they need more snack & drink, so the catering people decided to load them from the door right next to us.  Yes, that woke Zac up again, and he wasn't really happy at all. Yell  We ended up being there only for about an hour, and finally took off to Tokyo.  Unfortunately, Zac's body clock didn't get adjusted, so after only 3 hr sleep, he woke up at 7am Sydney time and was wide awake.  Everyone else was still asleep, so I put the Wiggles on (thanks to the Qantas TV program!!) for him, and although he didn't like the headset, he still enjoyed the Wiggles without the sound.  Go the Wiggles!!!

Zac didn't really have much sleep during the day, even after very long day & night, but fortunately, that put him straight onto Japanese time (2 hrs behind), so he woke up at 7:20am next morning, which is exactly what time he gets up back home.  I was very happy about that.  I get tired very early at night - so I think my body clock is still trying to adjust, but I don't scream or cry, so I'm sure everyone around me can cope Wink

We didn't really go anywhere first few days in Japan.  It really is very cold over here.  (I'm sure Tim & Kate must have had worse time in Canada, but it still feels bloody freezing!!)  It's around 5 degrees during the day, colder at night.  It snowed the night before our arrival, so it was white everywhere - and then it snowed again yesterday!! Surprised

We are heading off to Kobe tomorrow and will be back on Sunday.  Hopefully, I can give you more update and some photos when I get back.
